About MerFen
Two names on the door
Twenty years in security between them, most of it on the same jobs. Jason Merritt and Adam Fenner survey, specify and fit the work themselves, and the clients came with them.

The business
20 years' experience
MerFen started in December 2024. The people didn't. The schools and businesses Jason and Adam already looked after came with them, which is why a young company runs systems of 200 cameras and more.
We work for commercial and public sector clients only: education, retail, logistics and warehousing, construction and other high-security sites. The physical side is made in our own workshop in Edenbridge, and we install, commission and maintain across Kent and the rest of the UK.

What we cover
Electronic, physical and ballistic
Most security firms do one of these. We bring the technology, the physical protection and the engineering together, so one firm designs, makes, supplies, installs, commissions and supports the whole site.
-
Electronic
Systems that watch and control
Surveillance, access and speech, designed and commissioned as one system.
-
Physical
Steel and glass, made in Edenbridge
The parts of a building that stop people, made in our own workshop to the opening.
-
Ballistic
Protection rated against firearms
Glazing, doors and transfer built to BS EN 1063, BS EN 1522 and BS 5051.

The workshop
Made in Edenbridge
Most security firms fit what a supplier sells them. We make the physical side ourselves, which is why a counter, a gate or a hatch can be built to the opening in front of you instead of the nearest standard size.

Unit L2 at Gaywood Farm is a fabrication workshop, not a store. Steelwork is cut, welded, dressed and finished there, then fitted by the same firm that surveyed the job and drew it. Glass and speech units are specified and bought in to the rating the room needs; the steel around them is ours.
For a building, that removes a joint. There is no separate fabricator to programme around, no supplier lead time to design to, and no argument about whose part of the job failed. An awkward opening in an older building is a drawing, not an obstacle, and a damaged gate is usually a repair rather than a replacement.
