Who we are
MerFen Security Ltd is responsible for the personal information you send us through this website. We are registered in England and Wales (company number 16112031) at Unit L2, Gaywood Farm, Hole Lane, Edenbridge, Kent TN8 6SL, and registered with the Information Commissioner's Office.

What we collect
When you send an enquiry, we receive what you enter in the form:
- your name, phone number and, if you give them, your email address and company name
- what you'd like (a quote, a call or a site survey), the services you're interested in, the type of site, how many sites, and the site postcode
- anything you write in the message box
- the page you sent the form from
If you email us drawings, photos or a specification, we receive those too, along with your email address.
How we use it
Only to deal with your enquiry: to call or email you back, arrange a site survey, and prepare a specification and quote. We don't use it for marketing, and we don't sell it or pass it on to anyone for their own use.
Our lawful basis
Where you ask us for a quote or a survey, we use your information to take steps you've asked for before any contract (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Otherwise, we rely on our legitimate interest in replying to people who contact us (Article 6(1)(f)).
Who else sees it
Our website is hosted by Netlify, which receives form submissions and passes them to us. Netlify handles them only on our instructions. It may process data outside the UK; where it does, the transfer is covered by the safeguards in its data processing terms.
We don't share your information with anyone else unless the law requires us to.
How long we keep it
We keep your enquiry only for as long as we need it to deal with it. If you become a customer, it becomes part of your customer record. Ask us at any time and we'll delete it, unless we have to keep it by law.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the information we hold about you
- correct anything that's wrong
- delete it
- stop or limit how we use it, or object to our using it
- give it to you, or someone else, in a format a computer can read

Cookies and analytics
With your permission, we use Google Analytics to see how people use this website: which pages are visited, how people arrive, and roughly where they are. It uses cookies (named _ga and _ga_…) that last up to two years. Google provides the service and processes the data on our behalf, which may involve transfers outside the UK under Google's safeguards.
These cookies are only set if you choose Accept on the cookie banner. If you choose Reject, or do nothing, Google Analytics doesn't load. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings, also linked at the foot of every page.
We also use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages people find useful. It doesn't use cookies or store anything on your device, and it doesn't identify you, so it runs for every visitor.
We don't use advertising cookies, and sending an enquiry doesn't set any cookies.

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
