Bullet-resistant pay window (BRPW)

The BRPW is the pay window for counters where a risk assessment identifies a firearms threat. The glazing steps up to 26mm BR4, and the tray beneath it is the ballistic audio tray with an under-counter shot box.

What does BR4/SG1/NS mean?

BR4 is the EN 1063 class tested against a .44 Magnum handgun round. SG1 adds a shotgun slug test. NS means no spall: nothing breaks away from the protected side when the glass is hit.

What is BS EN 1522 FB4?

BS EN 1522 rates a complete window, door or shutter against firearms, frame and fixings included, not only the glass. FB4 is the class tested against a .44 Magnum handgun. The BRPW is designed to resist FB4 as a whole unit.

What is the shot box?

The ballistic audio tray sits over an under-counter shot box, so the opening that documents and cash pass through is not a weak point in the counter.

Does the BRPW need power?

Yes, a 13amp socket. It runs the electronic speech enhancement and the integral hearing induction loop.
