What is a transfer tray?
A stainless steel tray set into the counter beneath the screen. Documents, cash or packets pass between the public side and the staff side without leaving an open gap under the glass.
Which tray do I need?
The shallow tray takes documents, 25mm deep. The cash packet tray opens to 110mm for packets. The audio tray, 75mm deep, adds electronic speech and a hearing loop. The ballistic audio tray, 70mm deep, is for counters where the risk includes firearms.
How is the ballistic tray rated?
It is tested and certified by a UK accredited test house to BS EN 1522 FB4 and SG1, and includes an under-counter shot box.
Can a transfer tray be used outside?
No, these trays are for internal counters. For an external wall, use the flush-fit pay window, which has its own flush draw unit.
How is a tray fitted?
Into a prepared opening in your counter, with a rebate so it sits flush. The opening sizes are on each tray's tech sheet. Audio trays need a 13amp socket.
Why MerFen
One firm makes it, fits it and keeps it working
Most installers fit what a manufacturer sells them. We make the physical side ourselves, so the specification starts with the site.
